B i o g r a p h y

Anna Sukhorukova was born in 1985 in St. Petersburg. She is a daughter of two famous Russian musicians.
 

Her father, an artist of the Philharmonic hall and an Honoured artist of the Russia Federation, is a French horn player.

Her mother, who has also received the title of an Honoured artist of the Russian Federation, is a flute teacher at the Rimski-Korsakov Music College and the Academy of Arts, both in St.Petersburg.


At the age of 5, Anna started learning how to play the flute and piano at music school, then she continued her education at the Rimsky-Korsakov Music College which she finished in 2004 with honours.


That same year, she entered the Rimski-Korsakov National Conservatory, joining the school of professor A.M.Vavilina-Mravinskaya, the Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation,  She graduated from the Conservatory 2009 with honours.


While studying Anna participated in many festivals and competitions and became a laureate several times:



1998-  the Laureate of the St. Petersburg Open Competition for wind musicians
2002-  the Laureate of the E.Mravinski International Competition.
2008-  the Laureate of the International Competition in Bulgaria.



Anna has performed at many important St. Petersburg music halls such as the M.Glinka Philharmonic Hall, the M.Glinka Academic Capella Hall, the Music Hall of the Beloselsky-Belozerski Palace, the Hermitage theatre, and many others.


The musician repeatedly gave concerts accompanied by a symphony orchestra.


Anna has given  concerts for the government including a concert organized for M.Gorbachev, the Russian ex-president, and has taken part in concerts starring M. Boyarsky - a famous Russian actor.


Anna has performed in different Russian cities as well as in England, Germany and Poland.

The audience note that her performance is in an exquisite taste with special artistic expression.


Her style is always very emotional and arouses lively interest.
Anna's repertoire boasts pieces of baroque and classic music, romanticism, and impressionism as well as works of contemporary composers.


She has participated in master-classes given by such famous European musicians as Aurèle Nicolet and Wolfgang Wendel.
Anna worked at the P. Serebryakov Art School and the "Tutti" Musical School for 8 years.


In 2007 she won the"Pedagogic Hopes" Pedagogic Competition in the nomination "The Teacher-Performer" (St. Petersburg).
In 2008 she received a St. Petersburg government award which was presented to her by the governor V. Matvienko.

Anna speaks Russian, French, English and Italian.
